Promote & Sell Hand Made Items on Etsy.com

A friend and client of mine who sells handmade hemp and bamboo clothing, hemp homeware and gift items recently learned about Etsy.com and went about making a profile and store for herself to promote her hand-made products. She already has a shopping cart-enabled website but thought it would be valuable to feature her products on this popular site for additional exposure on the web.

I recently helped another friend establish a shop for her hand made handbags on Etsy.com and found it to be extremely easy to set up. Etsy.com provides a free, easy-to-use interface to create online stores for promoting hand-made products and it features a “social” component too. Etsy.com’s community of crafters and artisans provide support, inspiration and collaboration.

By infusing the product descriptions and titles with your relevant and targeted keywords, the store and product listings on Etsy.com can provide another way for web searchers to find you and your products online. It’s very easy to upload product images and store banners to customize your Etsy.com shop. Etsy.com takes a small percentage of items purchased on the site and offers a variety of ways to promote your shop online once it is established.

If you are the talented or crafty type and would like to create a free website to showcase your hand-made products, check out – www.Etsy.com.
