What is an RSS Feed?

RSS FeedsWikipedia defines “RSS” as “Really Simple Syndication”. “RSS is a family of Web feed formats used to publish frequently updated works such as blog entries, news headlines and more in a standardized format.” Sometimes referred to as a “feed” or “channel”, RSS feeds can be read using an “RSS Reader” or “feed reader”.

When you visit a blog or website that provides content or news that is of interest to you, you can click on the RSS feed button and you will be subscribed to the content of that blog, news site, etc…

When you subscribe to a feed, it is added to the Common Feed List in your browser. Updated information from the feed is automatically downloaded to your computer and can be viewed in Internet Explorer and other programs. Click here to learn more about feeds.

I hope you will subscribe to the Emagine Web Marketing blog feed (see icon in the footer) or subscribe via Email (each time a new blog post is added you’ll get an email) as I will continue to provide great resources, tips and how to’s designed for small businesses to maximize their internet marketing potential.
