If you’re a procrastinator, then I’ve got some good news. It’s not too late to send out a Holiday e-greeting to your clients and prospects. Yes, I know we only have about 4 more days before Christmas but that’s one of the great things about e-cards – they don’t take that long to create or send out. Not to mention the fact that you can feel good knowing you’ve saved some trees and some postage.
Visit any online image bank, I prefer www.istockphoto.com and pick out a holiday image that you like. Buy your image (they’re cheap maybe $8 – $10 for a nice high resolution image) and then download it onto your computer. Open your downloaded image into your favorite image editor (Photoshop, Fireworks or even some digital camera software) and add your holiday greeting to it. Save it as a .jpg at 72 dpi – the size should be no more than about 600 pixels wide.
If you’re using Outlook just place your cursor within the body of the email message and click on “insert”, “picture”, “from file” and then browse to your e-card image and click “insert”. The image should appear within the body of your email message. In the “To” field, place your email address and then proceed to put your recipient email addresses within the “bcc” field (that way you don’t expose your recipients email addresses to anyone else). Give your holiday e-card a Subject and make sure to include your contact information, business name and website address below the image greeting.
This is just one more way to keep you and your business in front of your prospects and to let your clients know that you appreciate them and are thinking of them during the holidays. Have fun!
