So my new favorite email marketing software is MailChimp.com. If you are still using Outlook or your own website/server to do regular email blasts its time to make the switch to a 3rd party software. I think MailChimp is one of the best options out there and here’s why….
1) It’s Free. Yep. If you have less than 2000 subscribers, and send less than 12,000 emails a month, the Forever Free Plan is perfect for you.
2) Great User-Interface. MailChimp makes me smile every time I log in with their quirky but helpful guides and notes. It’s large and easy to read typography and button layouts make it easy to get in, import your contacts from any number of other sources and create a visually-pleasing email campaign in minutes. Their footer reads “Love what you do.” – Now that’s my kind of company!
3) Great Reports and Tracking. Wanna know who opened your emails and which pages of your site they visited? That’s easy with MailChimp – just check out the awesome reports in the dashboard. There’s more information in there than you could ever really “need” to know!
4) When you use a third party email software like Mailchimp, the Email blasts are sent from the MailChimp servers, not your own. The last thing you want is to have your domain/IP flagged as a spam sender by other ISP’s (internet service providers). If you continue to send bulk emails out from your domain/server, over time your emails may be blocked if enough people report them as spam. MailChimp maintains high standards when it comes to Spam, and as a result they have a higher success rate for your emails to get to their recipients when sent through their servers. It’s product is for legitimate marketers who build their permission-based lists ethically and by the rules – meaning your list consists of people who have subscribed to your mailing list via your website or have verbally asked you to add them to your list. Learn more about Mail Chimp’s Rules, Terms and Policies here.
5) MailChimp has a large variety of designer templates so you won’t need to spend a bunch of time setting up your first campaign! My favorite is the RSS Feed template, that allows you to send a weekly or monthly email blast showing the most recent posts from your blog to your subscriber list.
6) MailChimp integrates with Facebook & Twitter. If you want to post your email blast to your Facebook account or Twitter account, no problem!
So, what are you waiting for, go check it out! www.MailChimp.com.

I feel the same way about Mailchimp! I’ve been using it for at least a year and a half and I have recommended it to all of my clients and friends.
Great post, Michelle! I’ve been wondering about Mail Chimp. Think I’ll try it out, per your recommendation. Mahalo!
