Kauai Banyan Inn

My most recent project was for John & Lorna Hoff of Kauai Banyan Inn in Lawai.  Lorna contacted me in a panic because her existing webmaster had left her in a lurch, with her site down for extended periods of time and with not being able to make the necessary updates to the information.  She’s been in business for years, since 2002 and she needed someone she could rely on to help her refurbish her old site and ensure 100% up time and I was happy that I could help out.  Working with Lorna has been a wonderful experience, she is so on top of the details as you can see from reading her guest comments.  She’s been a top rated Bed and Breakfast on Kauai for many years.  I visited her beautiful estate and toured each one of the lovely vacation suites and can see why her guests frequently comment about feeling like they are family when staying with the Hoff’s at Kauai Banyan Inn.  Lorna is an incredible hostess to say the least.

The Challenge:

The challenges with this project included returning the ownership of the Kauai Banyan Inn domain to Lorna, it had previously been with the existing webmaster.  I helped to guide Lorna in the process and she did the “dirty” work – calling the domain registrars and facilitating the transfer into her own account.  Another challenge was simply just conveying the amazing panoramic views from the Kauai Banyan Inn – photos just don’t seem to do it justice!  The Kauai Banyan Inn didn’t have a formal logo, so Lorna enlisted her daughter’s help (Koi is a graphic artist), to provide the artwork which Paul Reynolds (in-house graphic designer)  turned into a logo that will be used on all of their marketing pieces.

I love projects that are a collaboration of the skills and talents of many.  Mahalos go out to Lorna for being incredibly responsive and supportive throughout the development process, to Koi for the initial logo concept, to Paul for his expertise in Illustrator and to Adam, my WordPress guru at Mainstreet – great team work!
